… a drawing down of the blinds, a locking-up of the shop and so on.

HDip2005 - 2006 sails off into an exciting if unpredictable future, secure in the thought that you are the last ever HDipEd group to pass through this College. From September we will be semesterised, modularised and GradDip in name and nature. No more electives. No more final exams…

The Paper 1 Section B stuff is in the main good: marks are high. The electives and subject area materials are ready for collection even as I sit here typing this little valediction. I am hopeful that they will reflect the work and interest you put into your time on those programmes.

Belfield now turns to those other academic’s lives — marking, arguing at exam boards, finding missing scripts, essays, projects etc. Masters students. And research.

Anyway, be lucky; so long and thanks for the fish…

“In a slightly surreal week, the prize for the wildest mishandling of recognisable reality to dottily absurdist effect goes to Mission Impossible III.”

Martin Hoyle
FT, 4 May 2006

How true…. and to the HDipEd cohort all I can say is: have as relaxed a weekend as circumstances allow.

Welcome to the Lanzarote eTwinning workshop - Part 2. Can you please have a look at one or two of the following blogs; they are almost all connected with teaches and teaching.

The idea is that each group reports on what they observe using the following broad headings:
— What is the purpose of this blog? Who are its audience? What sort of materials does it contain?
— What do you see as its strong points?
— Do you see value in this kind of usage?
— And any other observations you choose to add….

But don’t you just wish you could write like this?

… is about the site that is causing all the buzz.

… is the name given (for now) to a collaborative blog being developed by a number of Belfield HDipEd English students with their classes.
It’s a lovely example of straight-forward, meaningful use of the technology. Well worth a visit and well done to all concerned!

[And already big in Italy it seems :-) ]
